After serving as missionaries in Ireland for three years, Robert and Joany join CTEN as the pastoral care couple for Africa and Texas. The health and well-being of the missionary on the field is essential for sustainability and effectiveness. They partner with the missionary and home church providing support and encouragement. Their goal is to help keep the missionary spiritually and emotionally healthy in order for each to live out the unique calling God has given.

Robert and Joany met while attending Texas Tech University and have been married 35 years. They have three married sons and 6 wonderful grandchildren (all under the age of six). They coached and taught all over Texas ending up in San Antonio and attending a missions minded church. After two short term mission trips to Honduras they knew that they were being called to do full time mission work. In 2013 they retired from public education after 32 years of service. They volunteered in Honduras and Panama before finding their home in Ireland. While in Ireland, they partnered with two area churches and established a thrift shop as an outreach to the community.

They worked with the area youth, led adult and children’s Bible studies and coached an American Football team. Once a year they travel to India and Nepal conducting pastor’s conferences, leading children’s Bible camps, village outreach and partner with an orphanage in Yagdiri.
