Denny and Barb met while serving individually in Tanzania, East Africa, over 20 years ago and began their journey as a married couple there. They moved to Guatemala in 2008 with their three daughters, to serve in ministry to children at risk and see now how God has been preparing them over the past six years to fill the role that He has called them to at an orphanage called Fundaniños, where they are serving as directors. Their role is to be parents, administrators, and provide a safe environment for the approximately 50 hurting children who live in the home. They desire for these children to experience Christs love and care, to experience joy, and to find Christ as their hope and a future for their lives.
Denny is a Family Nurse Practitioner and Barb is an elementary education teacher. They use these skills in the care of the children. In addition to their roles at Fundaniños, the family is actively involved in the ministries of their congregation, Casa de Libertad.
Denny and Barbs children Maredith (age 21, is pursuing her Registered Nursing degree in the States), Abby (age 19, lives in Guatemala and helps with the ministry at the Orphanage and in their church), Risa (age 17, is finishing her High School studies), Omar (age 15) and Edgar (age 13) continue to be a huge support and blessing, as well as active participants, in the family ministry.
