Jason Stringer grew up in Georgia and fell in love with Mexico and Hispanic culture in 2003 when I served as an intern with missionaries in Mexico. Over the next 13 years he led short term trips to Mexico, Ecuador and Guatemala. From these experiences, God showed that he was leading Jason towards a future in Central America. He was given an opportunity to join the Buena Vista Sports Academy of Travesia, Honduras in 2017. The BVSA Travesia Sports Academy seeks to break cycles of poverty, abuse and hopelessness for young boys.
With this ministry, their prayer is that God will raise up a group of young local men to be loving husbands and fathers, respected leaders, and Godly men, who can break cycles of abuse, absence of biblical family values, and other poverty cycles.
Jason and the BVSA Travesia team hope to mold these boys into young men that will lead their future families, and the entire community in a new direction towards loving Jesus by providing for their families and serving one another.
The goal is long-term. The idea is to labor in this field which is ripe for harvest until God tells them differently. They will sow His seeds of teaching, encouraging, and loving on these boys with the hope that their future families, and next generations will reap the benefit.
