Lisa and Rolando began their ministry together in Guatemala in early 2013. Rolando felt God’s call when he was a teenager to minister to kids, especially orphans, in Guatemala. He has been working with children through several ministries and orphanages since that time. He is passionate about illustrating the love and hope of Jesus to kids. Rolando plans to begin a mentorship program for older children in orphanages. This program will teach teens valuable life skills and will help to create a smooth transition to living successfully on their own after leaving an orphanage.
Lisa grew up in Ohio and began to desire serving God internationally while in high school. After several short term service trips, she felt a continued pull to serve abroad. As an occupational therapist, her ministry will focus on working with children with disabilities in several orphanages and a special needs school. Through working with kids individually, as well as training caregivers, she hopes to help those with disabilities to have improved quality of life. She will also aim to help kids with special needs to be more involved in their communities and to experience Gods love and potential for their lives.
