Christi Whitekettle
A native of Audubon, Pennsylvania, Christi has been serving in Rwanda since July 2007, helping to launch the Christian social enterprise, Azizi Life.
Azizi Life partners with local artisan groups to pay a fair wage for their crafts and to connect them with the global market. Azizi Life also provides resources and opportunities for the artisans to grow as leaders for the spiritual and physical development of their families and communities.
Within Azizi Life, Christi oversees the product development process, and works to promote the artisans and their products to the world. The goal of Azizi Life is to be self-sustaining, and led by the local Rwandan staff. In the process, Christi finds it a great joy to serve as a bridge, helping to promote understanding between her coworkers in Rwanda and customers around the world.
