Medical insurance is a necessary part of your support while on the mission field.
Provincial health insurance plans do not offer adequate coverage when you are overseas.
In some countries you may be able to get good in-country medical insurance. But, if you needed to be medically evacuated and then obtain medical care in Canada, this would be very costly, especially as there is a requalifying time to get back on your provincial care plan.
Here’s a Solution!
If you (or your spouse) is a Canadian citizen under the age of 70, you are eligible to join CTEN Canada’s Group Medical Insurance program. This is a comprehensive insurance program that covers 100% of eligible costs with no deductible or co-insurance, including prescription drugs. It also provides a minimal level of life insurance and disability insurance, both of which may be increased if you wish, for a reasonable rate.
