.Nestled in the Cuchumatanes Mountains of northwestern Guatemala, Huehuetenango has been home to my daughter, Jessie, and me since June of 2010.
My primary passion here is teaching the Bible in rural places and in seminaries that serve rural pastors, but after seeing the extreme physical need of the indigenous population, God led me to start Loving InDeed in August of 2014. Through this program, people receive food, housing assistance, medical care, scholarships, and spiritual support. More recently, God has opened the door for Loving InDeed to expand with the building of Casa El Roi, a halfway house for young ladies ages 18-25 who for various reasons have nowhere else to go. We are in the construction phase now, but our goal is to house up to 12 young women at a time, offering them a loving home atmosphere where they will be discipled and taught work and homemaking skills as they make their way into the world.
